ADial Pharmaceuticals is focused on developing novel and effective medications to treat addiction and addictive behaviors. Our two most advanced compounds, AD/04 and AD/01 specifically target alcohol abuse and dependence through either proprietary dosage or a proprietary combination of drugs.  Our lead candidate, AD/04, has recently completed a large Phase II study (302 patients).  While a full review of the study data is ongoing, preliminary results are very promising for treatment and denote a side-effect profile similar to placebo.  Our secondary candidate, AD/01 is expected to complete Phase II testing (280 patients) in August 2010.  Both of these drugs have shown promising results in reducing alcohol consumption, and may be considerably more efficacious, with fewer side effects, than other alcohol treatments currently on the market.  With the expectation of successful results, ADial could launch phase III clinical trials in 2010, with an anticipated New Drug Application (NDA) in 2013.

ADial’s second and third compounds are in early-stage development, having completed pre-clinical testing. Both have demonstrated strong potential for both alcohol-related disorders and a number of currently under-treated addictive behaviors, such as substance abuse and food/obesity disorders. In addition to our advanced pharmaceutical pipeline, ADial is highly focused in the development of pharmacogenomic and alcohol sensitivity tests that will potentially aid clinicians in identifying and treating individuals who are genetically pre-disposed to alcohol-dependence.
