Mr. Riccardi has prior experience with emerging ventures. As interim-CFO for Modern Visualization, a Silicon Valley start-up, he successfully prepared the company for its ultimate sale to a strategic buyer. As a principal with Duchossois Technology Partners (DTP), a $100 million fund located near Chicago, he was on the buy side of early stage venture financing and sat on the boards of numerous invested companies. Prior to his work with DTP, he was Director of General Motors Business Building Group where he led that company’s effort to create a boundary spanning corporate venture fund to help commercialize and better appropriate promising automotive technologies. Also at General Motors, he held several executive-level positions, including Director of Strategy for the company’s OnStar subsidiary, Director of Finance for its DirecTV unit, and Treasurer of GM China and operations.
Mr. Riccardi attended Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business where he pursued his Ph.D. in Business Strategy, and where his research interests centered about the study of entrepreneurial behavior. He also earned an MSc in Operations Science from the London School of Economics, and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where he majored in Finance. His undergraduate studies were focused on financial accounting for which he earned a BS degree from Penn State.
