Dr. King is currently lecturing in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia. He has also served as a subject matter expert to consulting firms and on the external advisory board of the Delaware Biotechnology Institute. Prior to accepting his appointment at UVA, Dr. King was Senior Vice President and Advisor to the Chairman, President, and CEO of Merck & Co. after serving as Senior Vice President of Science and Technology for the Merck Manufacturing Division and as a Member on the Board of Directors for Sanofi-Pasteur MSD Joint Venture. Dr. King launched his career at Merck as a Research Chemical Engineer and subsequently held positions such as Executive Director, Process Development for Merck Research Laboratories and Vice President of both Regulatory Compliance and North American Operations for Merck’s Manufacturing Division.
